Rules & Regulations
* A list of 12 players should be provided by each team captain before the toss.
* Both captains will go for a toss no later than 07:30 AM.
* Games should start at 07:45 AM (15 minutes grace period).
* Each team should have a minimum of 8 players at the ground before the game start
(at the latest by 08:00 AM).
* If one of the teams do not have 8 players at the ground by 08:00 AM then the match
will be awarded to the opposite team.
* If both teams do not have 8 players at the ground by 08:00 AM then the match will
be declared a tie.
* The time on umpire's watch is final.
* In case of an unavoidable circumstance (for example, traffic jam due to construction,
accident, etc.) when a team is expected NOT to have 8 players at the ground by 08:00
AM, the captain should call the tournament organizers [Robert (365-2588), Shamim
(887-4136) or Venkatesh (913-8584)] ASAP to inform about the delay.
* All team members should wear their team Jersey.
* Winning team will get 2 points. The losing team will get 0 points. In case of
a tie, both teams will get 1 point each.
* By the end of round robin, if two or more teams have equal points, the finalists
will be decided by run rate. If two or more teams have equal points and equal run
rate then the record against will be taken into account.
* In case of rain interruptions, the umpire may reduce the number of overs per side
or delay the (re)start or declare wash out. Decision is purely umpire's discretion.
* In case of a wash out, the points will be split between both teams.
* Duckworth Lewis method will not be used.
* The games will be played with a circular boundary for all games. To maintain consistency
Robert will oversee the setting up of boundaries for all games.
* There will be no power play or field restrictions.
* Free hit only if the bowler oversteps.
* Umpire may encourage players to run around the wicket but no penalties will be
enforced.
* All umpire decisions (including LBW decisions) are final. If a team is not happy
with a decision, the team's captain may file a verbal or written complaint to the
tournament organizers [Robert (365-2588), Shamim (887-4136) or Venkatesh (913-8584)]
and will be provided a feedback after consulting with the umpire.
* Dissent against umpire's decision will not be tolerated and will be reported to
the team captain promptly.
* Sledging against opposition team will not be tolerated and will be reported to
the team captain promptly. In order to encourage fair play, an award will be presented
to the team with the maximum fair play score. Umpire will fill out the fair play
report card at the end of each game. The criteria for the fair play award is yet
to be worked out.
* Partha will be the main umpire. Venkatesh will be his back up.
* 12th man from one of the teams will be the leg umpire
* Venkat will be the main scorer.
* Kalyan's team will pay a fee of $ 55 per game prior to each game.
Logistics:
* Robert will bring in mat, nails, boundary flags, measurement tape,
and wickets. * The home team will bring in the cricketing kits. * The home team
will have a couple of players at the ground by 07:30 AM and will take the responsibility
of setting up the mat, wickets, and boundary in coordination with Robert. * Captains
are available at the following numbers (Jas: 325-3393, Kalyan: 323-8657, Vamshi:
387-5260).
Recognition:
* 'Batsman of the Series' will be awarded to the player
with maximum runs. If two or more players have the same number of runs, the player
with the maximum average will be awarded. If two or more players have the same score
and average then the player with the highest strike rate will be awarded. * 'Bowler
of the Series' will be awarded to the player with maximum wickets. If two or more
players have the same number of wickets, the player with the best economy rate will
be awarded. If two or more players have the same number of wickets and economy rate
then the player with the highest strike rate will be awarded. * 'Man of the Match'
will be awarded to a player from the winning team, who played the most important
role in the victory. * 'Fair Play Award' will be awarded to the team with the maximum
fair play score. * Winning team will be awarded a Winner's Trophy. * The other finalist
will be awarded a Runner's Up Trophy. * All trophies should be returned to SACL
after the ceremony. * All members of the winning team will receive a certificate
and an award. * All members of the losing team (finalist) will receive a certificate.
Action Items::
* Each team should nominate a vice captain (action agent: captains).
* Decide on refreshment for prize giving ceremony (action agent: Robert, Shamim,
Venkatesh). * Work out the details of fair play award (action agent: Venkatesh).
